"Museum film" is not a genre designation, but a purposeful one.

 

Museum film :

 

  • museum work tool (research, documentation)

  • presentation tool (part of an exposition, exhibition or presentation of museum activities)

  • the film is part of the museum collections (archive film)

 

 

The term "museum film" has already been discussed

 

A meeting of experts on museums, film and television, organized by the International Council of Museums (ICOM)

under the auspices of UNESCO, which took place in the United Nations pavilion

at the World and International Exhibition in Brussels in 1958

on July 8-11, 1958
